Based upon the popular card game, in these versions of concentration the player is asked to select two "cards" which
when combined will match the first phrase of a common Latvian folksong.
In the beginning of play, there are 24 cards "face down". 12 of these cards show "beginning words" in a phrase and 12 cards show "ending words"
in a phrase.
The object of this game is for the player to continue selecting cards, two at a time, until all the matching pairs are found, with the fewest number of moves.
In Level I, the player uses a deck of 24 cards color coded by phrases. If the player is not sure of the correct phrase, the player can still match color coding and learn to recognize the Latvian folksong phrases. In Level II, the player uses a deck of 24 cards which are not color coded. Here, the player must recognize beginning and ending word sets to find matching pairs without additional assistance.
