* Please make sure that the team names, names of team members, and names of (co)captains are printed clearly and turned in by the requested date (December 9th, 2005). Names & Teams will be printed on programs for distribution. We appreciate your help in making this a memorable event.
* Team members should decide on a captain and a spokesperson for the day of "Battle" before the day of "Battle". This can be the same person, or 2 different people. It is highly recommended that whoever does the actual recording of answers and authors on "Battle Day" be a fast and legible writer and a good speller as the author's name must be spelled correctly to receive the author point.
* On the day of "Battle", team members within a team should wear an item of clothing that identifies them as a team for day of "Battle" such as a team shirt, team hat, team bandana, team sash or related team item. Please do not make this expensive!
* For the day of "Battle", each team is required to present a poster with their TEAM NAME. These posters are used to help the audience identify the teams when the teams are on stage. Posters should not be so large as to interfere and/or obstruct planned activities. "Balloon Bouquets" are optional.
* Battle Room Facility Doors will be closed once each "Battle" begins. These doors will remain closed until "The Official Break". "The Official Break" occurs between each set of 7 questions. Team memers, coaches, or audience members will NOT BE ALLOWED IN OR OUT UNLESS IT IS THE OFFICIAL BREAK. It is extremely disruptive to have people walking in and out and up and down the aisles when actually in the midst of a "battle". So, in order to provide an atmosphere more conducive to concentration for ALL TEAMS, we ask that you stay seated until the break times. Since there are 3 breaks during each "battle", anyone arriving late for the start of a "battle" will only miss the first 7 questions and not the whole "battle". Please do not allow crying or restless children to enter the facilities!
* There will be access to a pay phone.
* PLEASE INFORM PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS OF BATTLE DAY RULES!
* "Battle Day" will be held at Schoolcraft High School. The actual "battles" will be conducted in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). No food or drinks will be allowed in the PAC. The cafeteria will be open where teams will be provided with tables for snacks and drinks. Plan on bringing/eating/leaving your food in the cafeteria for the day. Coolers usually work well for both storage and extra seating.
* Boots may not be worn on stage, so please have team members bring an extra pair of shoes, slippers, or socks.
